I had a dyeing workshop at my place on Saturday with about 7 ladies all trying there hand at microwave dyeing.

We all had a wonderful time and I forgot to take photos as I was so busy.

When the workshop was finished my girls came out to my studio to help tidy up the room.

When they asked if there were any leftovers, I thought they were talking about morning tea.

I was wrong they wanted to dye up some yarn, lucky for them I did have some extra skeins soaking due to a couple of ladies unable to make it.

So here it what they came up with.
Now they are asking how can they sell them to make pocket money for the holidays. I may have to make them into some soakers/shorties.

The semi solid colours I did they are 2ply lace weight yarn.

It has been a while since I have last posted.

But I have received my Kitchen Swap which I was in through Woolaholics.

A big thank you to my swapper it is wonderful now just the get my girls to use them.

Kitchen Swap

I was in a kitchen swap with Woolaholics.

I can post about these as I know that my swappee has received them.

This was a challenge as I had no idea where to start.

After many hours searching the net I finally decided on these.

I made a knitted tea pot cover with two mug covers as well as some coasters which were crocheted for the cups and a larger one for the tea pot and included a box of green tea.

This was a blend of knitting and crocheting. My crocheting is very limited.

Hoping my swappee likes them.

Swaps for this month

I have entered into my first very swap, in a big way with four this month.

The first one was due last Monday which was some hand dyed yarn, which I will post pics when it has arrived to its new home.

The second is for stitch markers.

The third is for a small item up to 200grms.

And the fourth is for a small things swap.

I have been surfing the net for lots of patterns and ideas for the smaller swaps, have found some but would like to have more to choose from.

I will post photos of all swaps when they all have arrived in there new homes.
I have been having lots of fun doing these, I don't know why I have not joined in early with these.

I was all s asked by a fellow knitter who does not have a ball winder if I could wind some of her yarn into balls for her and also dye some of the yarn as well.

I said that would be fine until I sort the amount of yarn she liked to have balled up.

I will take pics when I have finished.

I have also been busy knitting for charities, There is a very kind lady at my local knitting group which is very happy to take this items and send them to the needy.

This was last months effort.
This month I have been knitting for the local hospital.

Holiday Knitting

I have been busy with knitting and dying these holidays.

So with them coming to an end I will be back at work come Tuesday I thought that I should share some pitcures with you all.

The first one is hand dyed merino tops in colours of pinks and browns plied with a coridale tops in pink.
The second ball is hand dyed merino tops in colours of blues and greens plied with a coridale tops in green.
The third ball is hand dyed merino tops in colours of reds and blues plied with a coridale tops in red.
These will be for sock yarns as they will wear better than just merino yarn.

Also I made some fingerless mittens using some of my leftover yarn that was on my bobbins, which I plied with some Alpaca that I had been spinning.

Then I thought I would try to spin some chunky yarn, which I have not done since learning to spin.
It turned out bettern than I had thought so then I made a scarf from it.

Spinning

I have been doing a bit a spinning to last few days.

Thought I would give the needles a bit of a rest.

Here is some Aplaca that I have been spinning in the cream, I have finished this bag. There is about 600grms of this fleece. Not sure what I am going to knit with this yet.

Then I started on some very nice rich brown in colour Alpaca fleece. In this one there will be 400grms. again not sure what to make.

This will be the next project very nice colours I think I will add a little white fleece to these colours. Again don't know what to knit will end up with about 150grm.

I just liked the colours and had to have them.

I will post photos of this one when I am finished.
